Schools on the MOVE - Movement Instructor

About the position

The MOVE Instructor is an educator and mover who brings PC's Schools on the Move program to school sites and partners in the community, and delivers on-site programming for PC Movement Classes and Camp Commotion Summer Camp. The Instructor is responsible for delivering programming, collaborating on curricula development, communications and outreach. Other key duties include parent and community partner support and collaboration, program outreach, and administration tasks. The position reports directly to the MOVE Coordinators.

Position Details

Start Date: Beginning Mid-October 2023. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings + Friday afternoon meetings. Some weekend and evening shifts are required, according to event, meeting and outreach schedules.

Work Schedule: 10 - 15 hours weekly, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings + Friday afternoon meetings. Some weekend and evening shifts are required, according to event, meeting and outreach schedules.

Hourly Rate: Starting rate: $28 hourly

Education: AA Degree or higher, emphasis in Dance, Kinesiology, Child/Youth Development, Early Childhood Education, or Neuroscience is preferred. OR a minimum of 5 years of lived/professional experience in the fields of movement, sports, or education.

Requirements:

  •  Current Physical Health Screening (every 2 years thereafter)

  •  Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ)

  • Current Immunizations (TB, Influenza, MMR, Pertussis) (every 2 years thereafter)
    Project Commotion requires all in-person staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; or, if they cannot receive the COVID vaccine due to disability or a sincerely held religious belief, they must show proof of a negative COVID test on a twice-monthly basis.

  • Complete Mandated Reporter Training (every 2 years thereafter)

  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every 2 years thereafter)
