Friday, February 19 – Sunday, February 21, 2010
Project Commotion and Capoeira USA invite you to participate in our first Youth Capoeira Encounter -- Criança Esperança. Open to youth ages 4 – 18 years old, with all levels of experience in capoeira, this promises to be a fun weekend of capoeira, music, dance, games, and crafts.
Our event will also freature a Teaching Seminar for Adult Capoeiristas of all levels, from calouros to Mestres, focusing on those who are currently teaching or are interested in teaching Capoeira to youth and children. This seminar will cover information including child development, brain development, sensory processing, understanding how to work with children and families, and more.
Criança Esperança will be led by some of the most outstanding teachers of Capoeira who work with youth and families in the Bay Area and beyond!

Winter Session:
January 4 – March 25, 2010
Enrollment is ongoing. Winter session schedule is online here.
What's all the Commotion?
Project Commotion is a community space where children, families and educators are invited to learn and grow together through movement, sensory experiences, and play.
We offer classes that incorporate tumbling, music, play, dance, and martial arts as a means of fostering healthy development, self-awareness and self-expression. Private, semi-private and small group classes are available for children, and community workshops are offered for adults.
At Project Commotion, we see every child as a special individual. Class sizes are small to allow our instructors the time and space to connect with every child and every family, and so that we may structure our classes to meet the needs of participants.
Project Commotion is a San Francisco-based non-profit organization welcoming ALL children between the ages of 10 months to 18 years, and their families. We strive in particular to support underserved families of children with special needs, as well as caretakers and educators, through the development of physical, sensory, and self-awareness.

To learn more about our work, please read our Mission and Philosophy. Please browse our website for specific information about our programs, and contact us with your questions and feedback.
Thank you!
Project Commotion would like to thank the Burt Family Foundation, the California Endowment, and the Ashbury Children's Foundation for their continued support in 2009!
