Project Commotion invites you to please join us for a series of workshops, December 15 - 17:
Sessions and Topics: A: Friday Evening 12/15 6:30 - 9:30 (dinner will be provided) Professional Liability Topics: Mandated Reporting, Sexual Harassment, Confidentiality, Crisis Management B: Saturday Afternoon 12/16 3pm - 5pm Cultural Humility C: Sunday 12/17 12:30 - 2:30 Self-defense - Empowerment - De-Escalation: Adults and Youth (ages 10+) (all genders) D: Sunday 12/17 2:30 - 5pm Self-defense - Empowerment - De-Escalation: Women-Identified/Non-binary folks only followed by dinner/discussion (dinner will be provided) Location: Project Commotion 2095 Harrison St. at the corner of 17th street, San Francisco Fees: Sliding scale fee of $15 - 25 suggested per workshop, or $50 for the full weekend. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Payments can be made upon arrival for the workshop by cash, check or card. Classes taught by Michele Elefante LMFT, 5th degree Black belt Shorin Ryu, Head Instuctor Okinawan Karate Club San Francisco About the Instructor/Facilitator Michele Elefante has for more than a decade provided counseling and mentorship to youth, adults and families through her involvement with various non-profit mental health and youth organizations focusing on teaching positive coping strategies, mindfulness techniques and compassion for themselves and their world. She has extensive experience conducting workshops dealing with topics such as de-escalation and medication, cultural humility, stress and anxiety, creating and maintaining boundaries. Additionally she is the head instructor at the Okinawan Karate Club (OKC) San Francisco, holds the rank of Godan (5th degree black belt) in Shobayashi Shorin-Ryu, and Shudokan Karate, has been an instructor at numerous national training events, and conducted self-defense and violence prevention workshops for youth and adults throughout the bay area for over 10 years. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology, and is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT). |
