Saturday and Sunday, April 21 & 22, 2012
Join us for a full weekend of learning through movement,
relationship-building, observation, and self-examination. If you have attended
a PC workshop before, you know this will be an educational experience like no
other! Parents, teachers, students, and professionals will benefit from this
great opportunity to explore how we learn about ourselves and our environment,
how to see children through a lens of brain development and sensory awareness,
and how we can shift our understanding into practice in our daily lives with
children.
Training segments will explore: • Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement® • Brain Development and Sensory Systems • Building Relationships • Midlines & Movement • Sensory Approaches to Literacy • Observations Attendees will receive training materials and a certificate recognizing their participation in 10 hours of professional development. What to Bring - Participants should dress comfortably in clothes that allow for movement. - Snacks and drinks will be provided on both days. We recommend that participants bring their own lunch for Sunday’s training. |
Schedule and Location
Moving through a Child’s Mind will be held at Project Commotion, 2095 Harrison Street (@corner of 17th St.), San Francisco Saturday, April 21 12pm – 5pm Sunday, April 22 10am – 3pm Fees Early-bird registration, by April 1: $150 Registration after April 1: $175 Payment is due upon registration. Tuition assistance will be available for qualified applicants. We accept cash, check, or credit/debit. Checks should be made out to “Project Commotion.” Refund policy: Cancellations will be refunded in full through April 7. Cancellations after April 7 will be subject to $25 processing fee. No refunds within 24 hours of the start of the event. |

Project Commotion's Mission is to foster deep healing, strong interpersonal connections, and inclusiveness in our community by supporting the unique developmental processes of our children.
Our knowledgeable, nurturing and passionate instructors engage children in specialized movement programs, enhancing their brain-body connection, increasing self-regulation, developing empathy and building self-confidence. We partner with families and support educators in understanding the critical value of integrating quality movement experiences in daily life.
LITERACY AND LANGUAGE CENTER DIRECTORS: Niku Bolourchi and Amber Lamprecht
The Literacy and Language Center’s Directors, Amber and Niku, are specialists with over 20-years combined experience in clinical and educational settings. They work one-to-one with students ages 5 to adult on the areas of reading, writing and language skills through multi-sensory teaching methods. LLC staff understands the importance of building meaningful relationships with their students and believes in a team approach to education, working closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and most importantly, parents.
FACILITATOR: Tracy Burt, Ed.M.
Tracy Burt teaches in the Child Development and Family Studies Department at City College of San Francisco in the areas of relationship-based teaching, supporting LGBT families, teaching children with special needs and K-12 teacher preparation. She brings experiences as a preschool teacher, a domestic violence counselor for children and an activist to her work as an adult educator.
