Project Commotion's Monthly Community Workshops
Monthly workshops are targeted towards parents, caretakers, educators, students of child development, and others who work with young children.
All workshops take place at Project Commotion, 2095 Harrison Street (on the corner of 17th Street), San Francisco.
Registration
RSVP is required; there will be a limit of 35 participants.
Sliding scale fee $10 - 25. We ask that all participants pay-what-they-can within that range. If you are unable to pay the minimum $10 fee, you may request more information about tuition assistance. A limited number of scholarships will are available for each workshop.

Thursday, February 23 7:30 - 9pm "Through Childrens' Eyes, Learning is a Game" Presented by PC Co-Founder Chagua Camacho-Olguín Presented in English Curricula How can we support children as they develop their sense-of-self and ability to self-regulate? This workshop will address this question by experimenting with movement and momentum, changing our perspectives by changing planes and exploring inversions, and drawing connections between the science of well organized movement with the science of our brains. Certificates for completion of 1.5 hours of Professional Development in Child Development and Family Studies training will be given to participants at the close of the workshop. | _
Saturday, March 10 12:30 - 2:30pm "Self-Defense Workshop" Co-presented by Michele Elefante Sensei and Deb Lee Sensei of Okinawan Karate Club of San Francisco Curricula This workshop will introduce participants to exercises that teach skills that are crucial to their own personal safety, providing tools in awareness, de-escalation and basic practical self-defense skills appropriate for all regardless of gender, age, or previous self-defense or martial arts experience. Participants will come away with new ideas on how to stay aware and safe. This workshop will be a lot of fun, so come with and open mind, and willingness to try new things. |

Checks can be mailed to our address below, please include your full name and write "Monthly Workshop" and the date of the workshop in the memo line. Credit card payments may be made by phone or through Google Checkout by clicking on the link below. Please submit your payment of $10 - 25, according to what you can afford. For childcare, please add $10 for each child.
