Feldenkrais Method® for Infants and Children at Project Commotion
The Feldenkrais Method® is a mind-body approach that can enhance a child’s body awareness, coordination, and self-regulation. Functional Integration® (FI) sessions are hands-on individual lessons that use movement and gentle, guided touch to directly address learning through the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
The method has helped infants and children with challenges or diagnoses including autism, ADD/ADHD, cerebral palsy, gross- or fine-motor delays, learning difficulties, lordosis, sensory processing difficulties, scoliosis, and trauma.
Feldenkrais work at Project Commotion begins with a series of sessions that include free exploration of our studio space, during which the child and parent/caretakers build a trusting relationship with the practitioner, dictated by the child’s pace and interest. As we progress, we move towards hands-on work with the child and modeling of observation, touch and positive interactions with parents/caretakers
