Second Annual Push-up-a-thon
Project Commotion celebrated our first full-year of programming in our Harrison Street facility with our 2nd Annual Push-Up-A-Thon Fundraiser. Over 100 people joined us for performances by PC Youth Capoeiristas, Okinawan Karate Club of San Francisco, and BodiRock Culture! We cheered on over 35 Push-Up Contenders who helped us to raise over $15,000 for PC's scholarship programs.

Congratulations to Project Commotion's youth capoeira students who participated in Capoeira USA's 2009 Kid's Batizado on February 28! Students and families had a great time at the event, and as your teachers, we are so proud of the progress you have made and your ability to show off your skills! Thanks to Mestre Urubu Malandro and the students of Capoeira USA, and staff at June Jordan School for Equity who helped with organizing and hosting the event. And special thanks to our special guest, Mestre Espirro Mirim, along with all our visitoring Mestres, teachers and students who shared their great axé!

On September 12, 2007, Project Commotion invited everyone to join us as we celebrated the opening of our new space which houses our main studio and administrative offices. In addition to our 1st Annual Push-up-a-thon, it was an evening of food, fellowship, and most importantly … fun!
On February 25, 2007, Project Commotion hosted its Founding Donors Party and Silent Auction. We had a great turn out for our program introducing the community to Project Commotion, and a beautiful silent auction with original works of art and in-kind donations. |
